- 7:00 AM: Pancake Breakfast begins at Athletic Field
- 10:00 AM: Independence Day Parade starts on Main Street

Important Reminders
- No paid parking on July 4th - but standard safety regulations apply
- Personal fireworks are strictly prohibited in Bar Harbor (local ordinance)
- DO NOT park on Bar Island sand bar - vehicles risk submersion from tides
- Use Island Explorer bus service - free shuttle with extended service after fireworks
- Road closures begin at 9:45 AM for parade route

Marine Safety Notice
Boaters: The pier closes to all boat traffic at 12:00 PM
A 200-yard safety zone around the pier will be enforced during fireworks. Listen to Channel 16 for updates.
Bar Island Walk
Cross the sand bar at low tide for ocean views. Check tide times to avoid getting stranded!

Parking Information
Critical Warnings
- DO NOT park on Bar Island sand bar - vehicles risk submersion from tides
- Newport Drive lot closes at noon - vehicles will be towed
- Standard regulations apply - no fire hydrants or marked zones
- DO NOT park in yellow zones - yellow zones and yellow curbs are no parking areas
- Observe no parking signs - no parking signs are posted throughout town, please do not park in these sections

- Municipal lots off Rodick Street
- Street parking where permitted

Free shuttle service is your best option for avoiding parking challenges.

Starting at approximately 9:15 PM, this spectacular show illuminates the bay with patriotic colors.

Safety Guidelines & Regulations
Personal Fireworks Strictly Prohibited
The Town of Bar Harbor maintains a strict prohibition on all personal fireworks. This local ordinance overrides Maine state law due to high population density and fire risks.
Marine Safety & Harbor Regulations
Special marine safety measures are in effect for the fireworks display:
- 12:00 PM: The pier is closed to all boat traffic
- Safety Zone: 200-yard radius around the end of the pier closed to all boat traffic
- Inner Harbor Mooring Owners: Boat captains can be escorted to the skiff float for fireworks viewing
- Post-Fireworks: Harbormaster will announce via Channel 16 when the safety zone is lifted and boat traffic can resume
General Safety Tips
Wear sunscreen and stay hydrated throughout the day
Large crowds make it easy to get separated
